Plan for the weekend

Just a quick reminder to NOT reply to the googlegroups email that sends you the blog update emails as that will be sent to the entire team - as I am sure you have seen that you are getting numerous emails from different team members. Oops! So a good rule to follow is that if what you are responding to is not directly addressing you and it is addressing the group, your reply will not go to my email address alone. So you are pretty much never responding to a blog post email. To reply to ME -- write to my email address which is andreallarosa at gmail dot com or there is also the shjrracers at gmail dot com which will get to me as well. Just don't write emails to the sleepyhollowjuniorracers at googlegroups email. Thanks! Sorry it is so confusing!

Thanks to everyone for getting back to me so quickly about racing at the Range this Saturday. I am really excited that we have so many of you racing. The more the merrier and it really creates for a great atmosphere. Since there are so many of us, and I do believe that we will have space to use in the Walker Building - although it will probably be pretty packed - I would encourage a parent or two to volunteer to bring/coordinate people to bring some post race snacks/food if people might hang out a little bit after the race and watch some of the highschoolers or even to just grab a quick and rewarding treat after working hard out on the trails. Even a few thermos' of hot chocolate are great to warm bodies and spirits!

We will want to meet there at 8:45-9ish since we will be racing at 10am. You can be more towards the later side of things if you have fishscales. It is another mass start race so last weekend was good practice! You will want to at least ski the course (which I did find out will be a 2 lap course) and then get in a good 5 minutes of hard skiing to wake up your muscles and lungs before getting out there for the real thing.

So we'll see you Friday for a classic practice and then we will be able to go to CVU to wax if desired. Remember, you are only waxing tips and tails -- do not wax your kick zone/wax pocket/fishscales. And make sure to remove all kick wax/sticky wax that is under foot before waxing your skis with the glide wax (the wax you melt on with the iron).

And, also, just keep me posted on who has registered for the BKL Festival. If you are bored and you don't know yet -- try to find out who Bill Koch is!

Enjoy the snow and hopefully your snow day!
