Looking towards....

...THE WEEKEND!

Race this weekend is at Sleepy Hollow! Lucky us! Great grooming, your home venue, nearby, and an early start. Your race starts at 10am and we should plan to get there at 8:45-9amish...be on the earlier side of that if you have waxable skis (remember to bring your skis without any kick wax on them, you want a clean kick zone!). You can be on the later side of that if you have waxless/fishscale skis.

Friday practice -- we will attempt to familiarize ourselves more with the course and you will have the option to ski with some of the Friday only BKL group and assist them with technique. Even if you are a new skier, you will have valuable tips for these guys, so don't worry! If you ski with one of the younger groups, they will just think it's cool to ski with you. We are classic skiing. Waxing is available at CVU after practice.

...THE END OF THE SEASON!
It's hard to believe, but the end of our season is coming soon. Hopefully if you are planning to do the BKL Festival you have already registered as I believe the price went up $10. As I stated before, if you definitely want to go, but it's a challenge financially, let me know so we can figure something out. Cost shouldn't hold you back! BKL Festival skiers will also need to make a team banner and get some "accessories" together to dress up a bit for the races. We've got to show our team spirit. Face paint? Headbands? Ribbons? Whatever you can think of. So those of you going, we will have to make a time to get together to make the banner. There may also be some BKL skiers from the Friday only group, so we'll have to get in touch with them as well.

Next week is actually our last week of official practice. The following week is school vacation. You are welcome to come ski and use your rental gear and all of that, but it's not official practice since we know so many of you will be off and busy doing other things.

We also need to think about an end of the season event...something similar to the potluck we did last season (yum!). There is a potential offer to do some skiing and partying at one of your homes, but I won't fully advertise that just yet. But know we won't be without and end of the season get together.

...AND LOOKING JUST A BIT BACK...
to last weekend's awesome race at the range. Results are here. You will have to find the race in the list there. Everyone did so well! Great racing and great turnout from our team. Mass starts can be tough physically and mentally and everyone handled it like a pro. I am trying to get you an attachment that I have for the Frost Mountain Nordic race at Breadloaf...they did just send me the results, but I don't know how to post a document here. Look for just an email (versus a blog post email). I also have some more parent pictures but don't have the time to get them up right now. Sorry.
