I have seen NOAA listings for wind chill values as low as -23. I have said in the past that as tough Vermont skiers, we'll be out there in all conditions, but -23 might be a little much especially on less than ideal snow. We will not, however, cancel practice.
I think that doing activities as a team, no matter what they are, is valuable. After our circuits on Tuesday, we all sat around and stretched (some of us more than others!) and watched some old World Cup races with Bjorn Daehlie and Thomas Alsgaard (this video was also on while we were doing circuits so some stations like wall sit, tucks, sit ups, could watch while completing their tasks) and I think this was actually pretty fun for our skiers to be in a relaxing atmosphere together and not out moving on skis where it's difficult to carry on a conversation.
Anyway, with that said, we'll make the call about being outside tomorrow, but just a warning that we could end up inside doing some strength or other circuits, having a snack, maybe watching more race/instructional videos, and hanging with Jake, hearing what he has to say and seeing how well he fields questions from our curious skiers. We could also do a very short outdoor session with Jake and then do the remainder inside. So we'll see how it all pans out.
PRACTICE STILL ON, GUEST STILL COMING, ACTIVITY TO BE DETERMINED!
