We had an awesome first race. We had 4 in the boys race and 3 in the girls race and everyone did really well. It was a tough course with the big uphill on Ridge Road, some rolling terrain on Bear Claw and then a downhill on Potato Farmer into the uphill finish. Fortunately, we had skied each section of the race course in our practices already so the course was familiar.
We waxed up tips and tails with a little F4 rub on to maximize our glide and the trails had nicely set tracks among a few inches of fresh fluff. The skiers got out and did a little warm up on the course, made up some flashy armbands, and had a rousing game of Twister to get our stretching in (we even had a player lose a tooth, though, admittedly this was a tooth that was ready to come out and not due to any sort of wild game play).
After the race, we did a little ski on Liberty Meadow and up and down Tina Turner. Some of our skiers really took to the pow on that one and wanted to take several more runs!
I will send out results via e-mail or post them here when I get them!
Great job to all and thanks to parents for all the help :o)
Apologies for the not so good pictures - that's all we got before the camera froze/died.
